In 2024, I had the opportunity to work with Healthtracka. A leading health-tech company based in Nigeria to design their first ever mobile application for consumers. As a contracted designer on the project, I collaborated closely with the product and development team to translate their existing web-based diagnostics experience into a clean, trustworthy, and mobile-first platform.

Onboarding: Building Trust from the First Tap
Our journey began with designing the onboarding experience. A critical moment where users form their first impression of the app. The onboarding screens introduced Healthtracka’s core value: reliable lab testing, delivered to your door.

Home & Discovery: A Calm Hub for Health
After completing onboarding, users land on the Activity (home) screen, which serves as the central hub of the app. It was designed to offer both quick access and a sense of calm, balancing functional elements like activities with gentle nudges toward exploring new tests or health features.

Test Booking Flow: Making Transactions Feel Effortless
Designing the booking experience meant paying close attention to detail. Users often approach healthcare purchases with hesitation, so we wanted every step — from Cart to Check Out — to feel seamless and grounded in trust. We used progressive disclosure to keep things simple: showing only the most essential information at each stage.

Kit Registration & Sample Process: Empowering Users at Home
Some users opted for self-sampling, a process where they collect their samples using home kits. To support this, we designed a guided flow starting with Register Kit ensuring that each user’s sample was correctly linked to their account.

Doctor Chat & Care: Human Connection Through the Screen
Beyond diagnostics, Healthtracka wanted to provide a deeper care experience and this meant enabling chat and call features with licensed doctors. On the Chat with a Doctor screen, users could initiate conversations and follow up on their results. We kept the interface familiar by using a design language inspired by messaging apps, while also integrating healthcare-specific elements like file sharing and test result references.

Though my role focused on visuals, I consistently advocated for users, balancing clarity with care. This project deepened my passion for creating design that makes essential services feel human and accessible.
